Recently, I came across this event MTV Adobe AIR Challenge with a lot of excitement. When I was reading the rules of the competition which made me loose all the excitement.

"The Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 continental United States who
are at time of entry at least 18 years of age or older or who have attained the
age of majority in the jurisdiction in which they reside."

Which means developers apart from US cannot participate in this event! :( Anyway hope to see a beneficial outcome of this event. I strongly wish Adobe to create events for the entire community, hereafter.

Adobe Developer Olympiad

Adobe is conducting a competition for Indian students in RIA application development using Flex and/or ColdFusion. Individual as well as group entries (max team size is 5) are allowed. Send a proposal of the application / component / Library that you would like to build with details of how Adobe Flex made difference in building the application / component. Once Adobe finds the proposal exciting, it will move to the second stage of the contest where you build a working prototype of your proposal. Further short listed entries will move forward to implement their proposals completely. The winners of each category will walk away with a prize of INR 50000!!

Who is Eligible? - Any student pursuing a degree in any stream as a full time student of a recognized university in India is eligible to participate in the contest.

I wish I could do something to participate in the contest but the eligibility restricts me from doing so! Still I wish I could atleast help someone who wish to participate in this contest. As far as I am concerned this is a contest that is not jus for fame and prize, this enable bring awareness about RIA, Flex and about other rich media stuff acclaimed by others globally.
